Saturday 23rd June 2012, 7:30pm to 8:30pm at The Y Theatre
The box office is now open for The New Quorndon Shakespeare Company’s spectacular anniversary production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Already there is a high demand for tickets for this popular Shakespearian comedy. Set in the stylish world of art deco design, beautiful Erté dresses and immaculate tuxedos this magical version has melded classic Shakespeare with classic tunes from the 1930’s.
Bryony Scott, Anna Ruth Gray, Katharine Crosson, Rebecca Fortuin and Sarah Hartshorn (pictured) will evoke the spirit of the Busby Berkeley show dancers on the night in a series of spectacular numbers. The Mechanicals will Make ‘Em Laugh, the Fairies will Dream a Little Dream, there will be A Fine Romance between Titania and Oberon and There May Be Trouble Ahead but the show must go on and the NQSC will ensure that this funny and entertaining show goes with a swing.
With elements of modern farce, mystical magic and broad comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a well-loved play and a perfect introduction to Shakespeare for the young or the reluctant. Overall this production that has something for everyone.
